Starting in the 2009-2010 school year, Alexandria will return to the LAUSD's traditional single-track school calendar. All students will be attending school
at the same time and on the same schedule. Students will no longer be on different track schedules. Classes will begin for ALL students on
Wednesday, September 9, 2009.
Alexandria's Main Office will re-open in mid-August to accept any new enrollments and to answer questions about any current student's status.

Free Breakfast and Lunch at Alexandria for ALL Kids! LAUSD's Food Services will continue to provide LAUSD students, and the community, access to meals even
during the summer! Our Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) is a federally funded program operated nationally by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and
administered by the California Department of Education.
SFSP will operate at Alexandria and other select schools and serve ALL children/students between the ages of one and 18. For the majority of participating
schools, the summer meal service program runs from July 6 through July 31. At participating high schools, the program ends on August 14. Depending on
participation, the program may be extended at select schools. For more information, contact LAUSD Food Services at 213-241-3366. To find out the location

We now have the new lunch menu in our calendar section. Student will have three choices for lunch. A "Hot" Choice, a "Cold" Choice and a third choice.

It is with great sadness that we inform our Alexandria community that on Monday, March 12th, Myrna's daughter, Valerie Fortier, passed away. Valerie was a former Alexandria
student. She also volunteered on the yard and at the lunch pavilion helping students with breakfast, recess and lunch. Our deepest sympathy and condolences goes to Myrna

We are sorry to inform the Alexandria community on the passing of a former teacher. Mr. Gary
Herberg passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2004. Mr. Herberg was at Alexandria for many years and

We have just upgraded our internal e-mail system to FirstClass version 7.0. There are some major changes. All old clients
version 3.51 and below will no longer work with PumaBOARD. You must use a version 6 or 7 First Class client.
