I was going to end third grade in two weeks. Ms. Right was passing out the report cards and in the front it said the name of my next teacher. It was Ms. Piedrahita. Ms. Right said, "Put your paper away, we are going to do art."
I wondered what kind of drawing we were going to do. She told us we were going to do a picture of a board and a teacher, and we were going to write a paragraph. We finished it in one week. On the second week we were not going to school because the teachers had a meeting the whole week.
I finally started fourth grade. Ms. Piedrahita looked like a nice teacher. She smiled at me. She said, "Hello, what is your name?"
I said, "My name is Juliet." Ms. Piedrahita said to sit at a desk. She said that we were going to study about the Earth. After we studied our Earth vocabulary words, she said that we were going on a field trip. But one girl said, "But we don't have permission from our parents...."
The teacher said that she had talked to our parents. I thought, "Talked to our parents? She hasn't even met them yet." I asked, "Where are we going?"
She said, "Just go get on the bus!"
Then Ms. Piedrahita turned around and turned into a vampire. Everybody stared, and then she turned into a bat. Then the kids started to run. We were looking for a wooden sharp stick and hammer. We found the stick, but could not find the hammer. I told them, "Forget the hammer, because she's in back of us."
Then we started to run and she turned into a bat. We were screaming for help. Then she said, "No one can hear you!" A bunch of bats were awakened and were flying all over the place. We started to bang on the doors for help. There were a lot of rooms, so we went to a room and opened the closet door. Then we all screamed because there was a skeleton hanging. We closed the door and went running to another room.
There were three closets. We did not know which one to choose. So a boy named David in my class said, "We should try the one in the middle." We went running to the middle door. When we opened the door a lot of bats came flying out and we fell down. Then we stepped back and we tried the first door.
When we opened the first door, there was a black cat and it purred at us. We closed the door and we stepped back again and Ms. Piedrahita was in back of us. Our only way out was to try the last door. We opened it and there were stairs going down. We all went running down and there was another door. We opened the door and went inside another room. There was a window, and it was open. We tried to climb out, but it was too high. Ms. Piedrahita came in and locked the door and we all stared at her. Then we stared outside and we saw a tree. We climbed down the tree until we got to the ground. She tried to follow us, but the sun was rising. She saw the sun and was turned to stone.
A truck was approaching and we shouted for help. Luckily the driver saw us and took us all back
to school. Our parents were waiting for us at the gate. We went home and Ms. Piedrahita was never
seen again.
It was the last day of fourth grade and Ms. Right was passing out the report cards and I got an A+. I was glad to hear that. I found out that my new teacher's name was Ms. Piedrahita.
The next day the teacher introduced herself. Then she started to say the rules in a rough voice with a mean face. She said, "I am very strict so behave well...or else."
That day Ms. Piedrahita made us read a whole science book and made us write a three page report about it. After school I went home early because my new teacher gave the whole class a lot of homework.
The next day a boy named Alex stayed in for recess. When the rest of the class came in, he told me that the teacher was a vampire! I knew it wasn't true. That is, until one day when I stayed in for recess and I saw Ms. Piedrahita's teeth. She was a vampire. I screamed, "AAAAH!"
Then Ms. Piedrahita turned around and looked at me like a mean person and turned into a bat and said, "If you tell anyone that I am a vampire you will suffer."
"Yes, Ms. Piedrahita," I said, scared. Then she turned back into a human. The class came in and Ms. Piedrahita put us to work. After school I went home to do my homework. That night I couldn't sleep. I was remembering what I saw at school. I was scared that my teacher would come and suck my blood. My best friend Jessica knew that my teacher was a vampire. She was scared too.
Ms. Piedrahita lived in a haunted house all alone. No one knows if she has a family. The next day Jessica looked pale, so I asked if she was feeling okay. She said she was okay, but then I found out that my teacher had sucked my best friend's blood! I had to stop Ms. Piedrahita from sucking kids' blood. That recess I stayed in class to investigate. This time Ms. Piedrahita just stared at me with a mean face.
At night I came to Ms. Piedrahita's house. Then I saw Ms. Piedrahita dead. The next day a
substitute came and introduced herself and became the teacher for the rest of the year. I am not
sure if Ms. Piedrahita was killed or not because I heard that kids were very pale and no one knew
what was causing it.
