One Whole Week At Camp
By Hae Yon S., Ms. Kling's Class

At camp, I was read to go to sleep, and I got sleepy when our captain was telling a great bedtime story.

At six o'clock in the morning, I said, "Michelle are you asleep?" All I could see was her smile and then I started laughing. "Shh, be quiet," yelled our captain. At six o'clock in the morning, the cold can wake you up. The bathrooms were clean! It was just great!

We went on many hikes. Two times we had to walk all the way to Cabrillo Beach. It was a long walk. On one of the blocks, we had to walk like Bernie in Weekend at Bernie's (Part Two). We were laughing, so much. We had to walk like Bernie because the hill was so steep.

The BEST part was hanging out with the captains. Boy, were they funny! Starbuck (a captain) was silly all the time. He would laugh, giggle, wiggle, and act crazy if a girl poked him. If a boy poked him, he would act serious and say, "It doesn't work with you, buddy." He had a great sense of humor and a personality. I miss them so much. Our teacher, Mrs. Kling, loved camp so much because she didn't teach as much. She seemed so peaceful.

The best part of camp was the food. Once, we had chicken or beef with gravy, corn on the cob, and chocolate cake. Yum, yum, yum. Sorry, you couldn't be there.
