3rd Grade through 5th Grade: 6:00 to 6:30 p.m.

LETTER FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Parents:

Green (C) Track Parent Conferences will be on September 20, 22, 23, 24 and 27, 2004. Please plan to attend this important event. Parent Conferences with your child's teacher will give you a chance to see how well your child is doing and how to help them to succeed in learning for the rest of the school year.

Green (C) Track Grades 1 through 5 students will be also be dismissed at 2:09 p.m. on Parent Conference days. From 2:09 to 2:48 p.m., only Green (C) Track parents attending Parent Conferences will be allow on the campus. Blue (A) Track students will be on regular schedule. If you are not attending Parent Conferences, please help us by not entering the campus until after Blue (A) Track regular dismissal at 2:48 p.m.

Blue (A) Track Parents, please plan to attend Back-to-School Night on September 21, 2004. Back-to-School Night will provide parents with an opportunity to hear about their child's instructional program. Kindergarten through Second Grade teachers will be available from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. Third Grade through Fifth Grade teachers will be available from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m.

KINDERGARTEN AND SRLDP ENROLLMENT FOR 2004-2005
AVAILABLE NOW FOR KINDERGARTEN

Kindergarten enrollment packets for the 2004-2005 school year are now available in the Main Office. Also, SRLDP (Pre-school) enrollment packets for the 2004-2005 school year are now available in the Main Office, too. In order to enroll in Kindergarten or SRLDP, you must live within our school's attendance area. We will also need proof of address with every enrollment packet. We will accept a current utility bill with the name of the parent or guardian for proof of residence.

Pursuant to current law, all new kindergarten enrollees must be at least five (5) years old on or before December 2, 2004. To enroll in the SRLDP program, your child must be at least four (4) on or before December 2, 2004. We will need proof of age and will accept a Birth Certificate, Passport, Baptism Certificate or Hospital Certificate of Birth. If you need to pick up an enrollment packet, please come on the dates indicated above. If you have any questions, please call the school at (323) 660-1936.

SAFETY ON THE WAY TO AND FROM SCHOOL

Please review with your child the importance of not talking to strangers on the way to and from school. Also, remind them not to take anything from anybody they do not know.

Thank you for helping to make the delivery and pickup of students at the Alexandria and Oakwood gates safe for all students. PLEASE DO NOT DOUBLE PARK OR STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET TO LET CHILDREN OUT, ESPECIALLY WITH CROSS TRAFFIC. We want all children to be safe and to cross the street at the crosswalks, not the middle of the street.

LOST AND FOUND ITEMS

Lost & Found garments are located in the Main Building hallway near the Main Office. Any clothing items not claimed by the end of the each month will be donated to Goodwill. Please remember to mark all your child's clothing with their name to allow easier identification. Thank you.

ATTENDANCE IS IMPORTANT TO LEARNING.
BE AT SCHOOL EVERYDAY.
IF YOU ARE ABSENT, PLEASE BRING A NOTE.
Students may come in late with a doctor note or
picked up early to go to the doctor, etc.
