During the last year, the Los Angeles Choreographers and Dancers has been conducting a dance program at Alexandria. With Louise Reichlin (Managing Director) teaching our students, our students performed with the dance group at a public performance over at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in June, 1997.
In 1998, with partial funding by grants from the City of Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department Youth Arts and Education and by Mervyn's California, Louise Reichlin and her group has returned to Alexandria. This time, our parents will join in the fun! After five weeks of rehearsals, our students and their parents will step out on stage with students from Los Feliz Elementary and the L.A. Choreographers and Dancers to perform at Alexandria, Los Feliz, and the Sherman Oaks Center For Enriched Studies in Reseda. The whole project will culminate with a final performance on March 1st at the Margo Albert Theater thanks to co-sponsoring by Plaza de la Raza.
