On March 20, 1996, Mr. Anker and the Wysiwyg's went again to Universal Studios,
but this time for something better. Mr. Anker made us sit with the kids from
King Elementary School. I got a good kid . His name was Lester. We had a lot
of fun talking. When we arrived we had to wait longer than we waited the other
time. We waited for about 1 hour and 15 minutes for the other schools and the
lady to take us into the studio. When everybody was ready, we went into the
studio where they will make the "Totally Nickelodeon" shows.
The first thing we did was tell jokes. Then the producer introduced us to the reporter
from Fox 11. He told us about his job and then he asked if we had any
questions. A girl raised her hand, but asked a very rude question. She
asked, "When are we going to start?" Then the producer introduced us
to a reporter from the Los Angeles Times. She told us about her job
and what she does everyday. Then she asked if the audience had any
questions. After she answered a few questions the fun began: for the
games they chose 2 kids and 2 adults for each team. The two teams
were the blue team and the red team. For the second game again,
they picked two adults and two kids. The first thing you had to
do in the game was go in a wheel tunnel, the second thing you had
to do was go down a slide, and there is all kinds of neat stuff in that game.
Some of the Wysiwyg's wanted to be chosen for the games but none of us got chosen.
We were really mad because we didn't get chosen. There was also a sliminator which
was used during the games. The sliminator was full of green slime, which they
poured on the kids. The first time the sliminator didn't work, so they took the
kid that was in the sliminator into the Sundae Slide. The Sundae Slide was full
of wet cream. The second time the sliminator didn't w ork either so they took
the kid that was in it to the pie pod. In the pie pod, they sit you down and
they throw five pies at you. The third time the sliminator worked and oh boy!
You should have seen the girl! She got slime all over her.
Before the show was finished a lady pointed to tubes on the walls and said that the
next time we come, green slime was going to come out of those tubes, covering every
adult and child in the audience with slime. When the show was finished we received
reporter's notebooks and Totally Nickelodeon badges. After we received the
reporter's notebooks and the Totally Nickelodeon badges, all of the Wysiwygs and Mr.
Anker gave a present to the host of the show: an Alexandria Puma t-shirt. They said
that they were gonna frame the t-shirt and hang it in their dressing room. After that
some of the Wysiwygs got the autographs of people. Then we left the studio. You'll
never guess where we headed after we left the studio! W ell I'll tell you: we headed
toward the rides! The rides we went on were: Jurrasic Park and Back to the Future.
When we were heading towards Jurrasic Park the Ride, Mr. Anker was taking the
escalator while all of the Wysiwyg's were running down the stairs. There were about
1,000 steps to run down. I was the first one down. Jurrasic Park was a really cool
ride. They had robot dinosaurs (they where huge), but the last part was scary. You
had to go up a mountain, and then you had to go straight down into a pool of water.
It felt like I was going to fall out of the boat. But then the really last part was
when you got a lot of water all over you. Then all of the Wysiwyg's ran back up all
of the stairs and Mr. Anker still was going up the esca 1lator. He only went up one
set of stairs then he took the escalator again (his leg's are still sore.) Elmer
C. and I were the first ones from Alexandria to be finished climbing the
stairs. Back to the Future the Ride wasn't as good as Jurrasic Park the Ride but
was cool. On Back to the Future the Ride you had to sit in the car and the car
took you up and then there was a screen on the top that showed the whole story.
The car moved you as if you where really inside the movie. It was cool.
After we did everything, we headed back to the bus.
